Copper Trails has been rated an “A” school since 2019. U.S. News and World Report recognized Copper Trails as one of the Best Middle Schools in the nation. Copper Trails Student Council has been awarded Master Council from the Arizona Association of Junior High Student Councils and the Junior Honor Society has been recognized for their community service activities through the National Junior Honor Society.

As an arts school, students have also had the opportunity to perform at Arizona Diamondback games, at the Arizona Department of Education and Arizona Coyote games. Many individual students have received recognition from a variety of arts-based organizations for their work.
