Copper Trails School Policies

To ensure that Copper Trails is a safe and respectful learning environment for all students, staff, and visitors it is important that the following policies are maintained and followed. If you have any questions or concerns please contact any member of the administration team.

Student Sign Out

All students must be signed out through the front office during school hours. The person signing the student out must be listed on the student registration form and must show ID upon request. Parents or guardians are not permitted on campus or in the classrooms without checking into the front office first. Instructional minutes from 3:00 pm - 3:40 pm are protected time. Student sign-outs may not happen during this time period.

School Visits

We welcome parents and community members to visit Copper Trails School. It is important to sign in at the front office before going into classrooms or any location on the campus. All visitors must also wear their printed visitor badge at all times while on campus. If you plan on volunteering on campus or within the classroom, volunteers must have the volunteer paperwork completed each school year in order to volunteer.

Class Treats

Due to the Arizona state law all treats brought to the school for special events must be pre-packaged. Unfortunately, homemade treats are unable to be consumed by students during school hours. If you have any questions or concerns about what can be distributed to students please review the state law, visit the Arizona Department of Education website or contact the school. If bringing treats for your child, please coordinate with your child’s teacher first for planning and to give an appropriate time frame for drop off.

Student Recognition Assemblies

Each quarter HOWL assemblies are held for students to be recognized for their successes. Students from every class are awarded for helping Copper Trails be a respectful community for learning. Parents and other family members are invited to attend the assemblies to help celebrate their student’s success.

Copper Coins

A Copper Coin is given to any student who is caught showing their coyote character. Students will get an immediate scratch-off prize and can also keep their Copper Coins to use to purchase items at the Coyote Den.
